This is a description of the project as compared to changents.com.

For a more direct critical opinion about changents.com, please check Fejj's personal comments on changents.com.

The project is really a super extended version of the concept of changents.com, plus a whole lot more.

The focus here, is the aspects similar to changents.com. Primarily, a place to locate, announce, or support efforts of changing the world in a positive way. The project provides a highly organized way of browsing through different efforts, and also ranks and rates them. Either by the user directly providing the criteria, or based on deriving the criteria from friends or extended social networks (user selected info. sources, such as media, on line libraries, government provided info.).

Then each effort can be reviewed, discussed, and further examined. Progress reports are also important, so people can follow that things are going in the right direction, and react when not.

And all of the efforts are mapped out in a clear plan (the "big picture plan") that users can follow overall progress of society.

Important is also the lack of redundant presentation of information, so that each visit to the site doesn't display efforts that have already been reviewed or considered, and have nothing new to pay attention to.

Further, all efforts are organized and are automatically "aware" of each other so as not to waste effort or resources on duplication, and all needed efforts are identified and mapped out.

And there is a whole lot more intended to be behind the project to bring about the fastest changes possible. And this is for each person being able to work on bringing about the changes they feel most important, not as decided by someone else. And, on and on. See the full description(s) here : project.
