The biggest turn off to me was after looking into the site and finding out that it's about profit. That to me that is usually a big red flag that there's nothing big to be expected, because the profit goal usually overwhelms any other goals, no matter how good intended.
In general, there seems to be not much here, no big clear plans, nothing that makes me jump up and down with excitement that this has got things under control or is working on getting things going that way. No real solution or significant effort.
Also, it was unclear and confusing to me about the difference between the people who run projects ("earthkeepers"?) and just regular people ("changents?") or whatever. The labels confuse(d) me. As well as this made up name changents. If they have people putting money in, could they not negotiate an acceptable price and get earthkeepers.com? And who/what has changeagents.com? Etc.
Not much activity in the sense of more and more projects and efforts joining in. For weeks, I keep seeing the same things on the front page.
No clear overview way to see how issues are progressing, or even progress of each of the efforts, when they project completion and when projections have been updated.
Also, there is no way to define which issues I want to follow as higher priority on the site, and ones that I don't consider issues. And the same for the different efforts on each issue.
There is no easy way for me to know what I can best do for each issue, without having to go through and read everyone's channel....
.... and the site is really slow....
I guess it's "Earthkeeper change agents" and (plain) "change agents"?
...
... and lacking dates and times... when people joined up, when they did this and when they did that... so get a list of so-n-so just signed up or just backed (whatever), but no indication of just a few minutes ago, or a few days ago, so how busy and active the site is, is not at all clear, and there is little chance to know if missed out of a lot of activity, or if what is listed is about it since last log on...
And really lacking (and a big part of the project) is translating all materials instantly to all languages. Dealing with problems locally and globally at the same time, so an individual person who wants to just make a difference can get guidance for their local activities, and people who are dealing with an issue have a view of all the different efforts to deal with them.
Also, on the local scaling thing, for example -
Tony Golenz
http://www.changents.com/change-agents/tony-golenz
has 2 action requests, which at least one I think should have had an automatic date expiration, but both apparently intended for people local to him.
Changents should be capable of supporting action requests locally, or intended for larger or world wide audiences.
The software and systems in the project would actually make scaling and replicating a sort of automatic and inherent thing, and unless someone wanted to specifically keep something private, they could focus their efforts locally, and at the same time tap into the experiences of others without having to learn and study about them, and also share out their experiences and needs for helping others and getting help.
